This Sunday in Children’s Church

This Sunday in Children’s Church, we got to witness something that felt like the heart of the Church in one moment: generations coming together to share strength, love, and faith.

Kids were engaged, listening closely, and ready to participate. It was one of those reminders that what we do with our children matters deeply, and God uses simple moments to plant lasting seeds.

A Gift Shared This Sunday

Patricia Leonetti came with something the Lord put on her heart: to teach our kids three songs. One of the songs was “Jesus Loves Me,” and Patricia shared that she’s been singing it since she was a little girl. It’s been part of her life for as long as she can remember, and now she was passing it on to the next generation.
Patricia is 95 years old, and she is a firecracker in the best way. She still drives. She knows her Bible. She looks out for others and cares deeply for the people around her in her retirement center. She’s faithful, steady, and full of life. You can tell quickly that she’s the real deal, and that God has done deep, good things in her life over many years.
Aaron Goulet, one of our parent volunteers who helps run Children’s Church, captured the beauty of the moment:
“It was just so cool to witness something that she learned as a child at five years old, 90 years later is still something she remembers and is an encouragement to her today and to share that with the next generation.”

What Church is Meant to Be

Moments like this remind us what church is meant to be. Not a place where a few people do everything, but a body where each of us has something to contribute. A gift. A story. A song. A prayer. A listening ear. A willingness to show up and love people well.

We want to encourage our church family to stay on the lookout for how God may want to use you. Sometimes it’s not a big platform moment. Sometimes it’s as simple as stepping into a room of kids and sharing something you’ve carried with you for a lifetime. Those seeds matter, and God uses them more than we realize.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.” (Hebrews 10:24)
This is part of what we’re praying for as a church: that we would notice one another, encourage one another, and step into the good works God has prepared, including the quiet, behind-the-scenes serving that strengthens families and builds faith in the next generation.
Generations worshiping together is one of the clearest pictures of what the Church is meant to be. Each of us has something to bring, and God loves to use simple gifts to strengthen the next generation.

Our kids ministry is growing, and we’d love a few more helping hands in the nursery. If you’re interested in serving (even once a month), you can learn more and sign up here.
